The Chaffhaye Process: 

Chaffhaye is made by carefully selecting and   harvesting forages at peak leafiness to maximize nutrients, palatability and digestibility. 

Within hours of harvest, Chaffhaye is chopped, lightly misted with molasses and compressed into air-tight bags sealing in that pasture freshness.  In the bag, the hay undergoes a natural fermentation, similar to the digestive process in the hindgut of a horse.  The process converts the forage into a “pre-digested” feed with live yeast and beneficial bacteria not normally found in dry hay, pellets or cubes. 

Chaffhaye is not a sweet feed, the molasses acts as a food source for the beneficial bacteria that do the work of fermentation. 

Chaffhaye facilitates greater digestion in the foregut of the horse where the bulk of proteins, fats, starches, vitamins and minerals are  absorbed.
